From Tom Mostert

This blog site is dedicated to sharing with you God’s thoughts on a multitude of topics. Information you can use to guide your life and thinking so you live in peace and certainty, even in the midst of a chaotic world.

Over the last number of years, I have compiled considerable material on who God is, how He thinks about us, and what He has in mind for the future. In a world of conflicting opinions, broken promises, and an uncertain future, Jesus, the creator and sustainer of everything, knows where we are in the course of history, and what is to come. Knowing Him and His thinking and plans, is the key to living with certainty.

My friend, artist Nathan Green, has captured well our present and future situation. In the painting above you see people on the right experiencing all sorts of sinful chaos. In the middle of the picture stands Jesus, who lovingly invites us to come to Him, because only He knows the way to His eternal kingdom. On the left are people who are on their way to heaven. Thus the reason for this blog: Jesus is the heart of everything and following Him is the KEY TO CERTAINTY. Only He can lead us to heaven while informing and reassuring our mind in a troubled world.

Note: The title page painting is also by Nathan Greene entitled “I Am With You Always”.

Statement of Faith

I believe the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, are the inspired Word of God. Read in the context of the time, place, and circumstances in which they were written, they reveal the unchanging character of God expressed in eternal principles. I also believe that in 1844, the beginning of the time of the end, God called His last day messenger, Ellen White, to guide in establishing His remnant church and assist in understanding scripture.

2 Timothy 3:14-16– But you must remain faithful to the things you have been taught. You know they are true, for you know you can trust those who taught you. 15 You have been taught the holy Scriptures from childhood, and they have given you the wisdom to receive the salvation that comes by trusting in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 17 God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.

Ellen White, Letter 86, 1906 – For half a century I have been the Lord’s messenger, and as long as my life shall last, I shall continue to bear the messages that God gives me for his people. I take no glory to myself; in my youth the Lord made me his messenger, to communicate to his people testimonies of encouragement, warning, and reproof. For sixty years I have been in communication with heavenly messengers, and I have been constantly learning in reference to divine things, and in reference to the way in which God is constantly working to bring souls from the error of their ways to God’s light.
